Position Summary:

Under the direction of Marwin’s Engineering Manger the Manufacturing Engineer will assist in monitoring current operations to help determine more efficient production processes. The manufacturing engineer's responsibilities include analyzing operations, designing workflows and production processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products meet established quality standards. This role is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in continuous improvement and documentation of plant processes, equipment, workflow design, Six Sigma variation reduction, and uptime improvements. The Manufacturing Engineer will assist with direction and oversight provided to operation’s teammates as well as interns. The development and implementation of processes for ongoing quality and innovative improvements in safety and productivity are a key function of this role. To be successful in this role the Manufacturing Engineer should be able to: evaluate existing systems and identify and design new systems that maximize productivity, reduce wastefulness and production issues, are cost-efficient, and ensure high product quality


Job Functions:

• Maintain expertise in all aspects of operational process as well as methods to improve processes. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical, mechanical, and information technology, product specifications, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), Kaizen, 5S.

• Monitor and analyze the root causes of significant production downtime in area of responsibility. Develop and recommend (through both written and oral methods of communication) options and courses of action to implement improvements to operational processes, reduce non-value added work and raw materials waste, and provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations.

• Lead Process Improvement meetings with Quality Supervisor, Safety Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Production Supervisors/MGR., and other operators in the area of responsibility.

• Prioritize the noteworthy safety, quality, and production issues and develop projects to alleviate the concerns of the operators. Communicate the status of the projects to the plant staff and to the operators in follow-up meetings.

• Formulate cost and expenditure estimates, including material and labor requirements, used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work for special projects; selection of vendors or subcontractors; continue to monitor and analyze project status at regular intervals for the duration of the project, making adjustments and resolving issues as needed.


Job Description:

• Responsible for the safety of operators by using best practices and engineering processes to eliminate or minimize hazardous working conditions in area of responsibility.

• Training staff for new processes and creating work instructions and manuals for existing and new equipment

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

• Conduct time studies including labor utilization, work flow and layout, process improvement and standardization.

• Utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to lead continuous improvement.

• Mechanical aptitude and willing to get hands-on with equipment and process.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline – preferably Industrial or Mechanical

• 3-5 years of experience minimum, hands on critical.

• Advanced knowledge of industrial production machinery, processes, and standards

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or similar), and other related programs

• Working knowledge of Six Sigma – preferably Green Belt

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and familiar with Lean tools, i.e.- 5S, SMED, Kaizen

• Self-starter, able to work individually as well as in a team

• Ability to lead small groups/teams and facilitate meetings

• Relevant work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail

• Documentation and organization skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear and concise information to varied levels within the organization

Position Summary:

The Inside Customer Account Manager (ICAM) is the first impression of The Marwin Company to current customers, vendors, and future prospects. This role requires a high level of integrity and professionalism. ICAMs possess broad knowledge of organization’s products and/or services, and knows how to apply marketing/sales techniques to satisfy the customer experience. ICAMs assist customers with placing orders, product knowledge and relaying realistic production dates while staying up -to- date on pricing and inventory levels. ICAMs maintain contacts primarily through email, telephone correspondence, or other means of communications. ICAMs receive, discuss and edit orders received from customers and outside sales representatives. ICAMs refer technical or complex product selection matters to supervisor or others for final decisions, to include inventory impact considerations (off-orders). ICAMs check conditions of sales, shipping, service instructions, and inputs order information into computer. ICAMs process change orders, maintain records and other critical customer related information.


Job Functions:

·         Provide best in class, customer service to internal and external customers across your assigned territory by being the first point of contact for their day-to-day needs.

·         Manage customer accounts and generate additional sales growth for each account.

·         Ensuring customer satisfaction by working with an experienced sales team.

·         Entering customer’s orders into our sales order system in a timely fashion.

·         Continuous learning regarding products and components.

·         Maintain all Price Pages Regional w/map (100 Mile Radius), and updating in Ponderosa

·         Research options for item pricing, pricing levels, quantity prices, price class

·         Manage daily process flow: paper, pick tickets, shipping tickets, pink tickets

·         Collaborate with shipping and other key departments to understand set or adjusted lead times

·         Assist with special projects

·         Adhere to Sales Department budget.

·         Integrate Company’s Vision in daily work operations

·         High level of responsibility regarding use of company resources.

·         Use of excellent ethical business practices and good judgment in dealings.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma/ GED or 2 years of related experience.

·         2-4 years of previous customer service experience in building materials.

·         Experience with purchase order systems, Ponderosa is a PLUS.

·         Must have the ability to work independently with limited direction while managing competing deadlines & multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.



·         Microsoft Office Suite required.
